ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Hindi is offered as one of the Part-I language options under the undergraduate curriculum. Students who choose Hindi as their Part-I language — from any department of the college, whether Science, Commerce, Arts, Business Administration or Computer Applications — study it alongside their core discipline as a foundational language component of their degree.

The programme is designed to strengthen students' command of Hindi grammar, composition and vocabulary, while deepening their engagement with Hindi literature and culture. It supports students in reading, writing and communicating effectively — a skill set valuable not only academically but throughout their professional lives, particularly in national-level careers and inter-state professional environments.

As the national language of India and one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, Hindi opens doors to careers across government services, media, translation, teaching and pan-India professional roles. The department supports students in developing fluency and confidence in the language alongside their chosen field of study.
